AFTERNOON SESSION, MAY 2 6 , 1 9 2 2

When the Board convened for the afternoon session of May 26, 1922, the same persons were present as during the morning session; and also, during parts of the afternoon, Professor J. M. White, Director G. A. Huff, Mr. John Holabird, Mr. C. J. Rosebery, and Mr. W. B. Russell. The Board continued its consideration of matters presented by the President of the University.

(2) PLANS A N D MODEL OF STADIUM The plans and a model of the Stadium.

Mr. John Holabird explained these plans and the model in detail. Professor White, Director Huff, and Mr. Rosebery were asked to discuss the design. The general plan was approved, and the architects of the building were asked to make a further study of certain features and to report at the June meeting of the Board.

PLANS FOR AGRICULTURE BUILDING (3) The plans for the Agriculture building, drawn by Mr. C. A. Piatt, the architect.

Professor White explained these plans. On motion of Mrs. Blake, the plans were approved, and the Supervising Architect was instructed to secure bids for the construction of the building.

HOUSING OF ILLINOIS U N I O N (4) A report from a committee on the future housing conditions of the Illinois Union.

Mr. W. B. Russell, chairman of the Union committee, was heard concerning this matter, and the report was received for record.

CHANGES IN T H E W O M A N ' S BUILDING (5) A recommendation that certain changes be made in the Woman's Building, to provide a larger swimming pool and gymnasium floor, by excavating the court and roofing it over, and that the free balances from the current year be used for this purpose if adequate or in so far as they may be necessary.

On motion of Mrs. Busey, these recommendations were concurred in, and the President of the University was requested to submit plans at the June meeting.

PAVING O N BURRILL AVENUE (6) A recommendation that the plank walk on Burrill Avenue between University Hall and the Auditorium be discontinued, and that a wide concrete walk be constructed.

On motion of Mrs. Busey, this recommendation was approved, and the President of the University was instructed to submit plans at the June meeting.

RESOLUTIONS FROM THE ILLINOIS PRESS ASSOCIATION The following resolution: Resolved: That althothe members of the Illinois Press Association recognize the good work done by the University of Illinois in teaching journalism, we are convinced .that the work could be broadened and be of much greater benefit to the interests of the people of Illinois if the "Course in Journalism" were segregated into (7)
