called, it is pertinent that the University of Illinois should lead in searching out the hidden facts relative to the life and development of that race; be it therefore,— Resolved, That the Indianapolis Illini Club, after due^ consideration deems the subject of sufficient importance to suggest to President Kinley and the management of the University of Illinois and urge upon them the appropriateness, importance, and desirability of establishing a course of study in connection with its Biological Department which would systematically develop this line of local ethnology, ethnography, and archeology, to the extent of teaching practical methods and using the same through applied science and research among the remains of this unknown race; and further, that steps be taken to participate in the research work now to be undertaken by the scientific institutions referred to.

This resolution was received for record.

CLAIMS FOR COMPENSATION FOR INJURIES (8) A recommendation that #201.70 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to pay bills for injuries to employees as follows:

WARREN MOFFETT T. E. CAMPBELL HARRY GRISSEMER SELL HAMLIN #187.70 10.00 2.00 2.00

These payments are recommended by the Committee on Accident Compensation, consisting of Judge Harker and Mr. Morey.

On motion of Mrs, Blake, these claims were ordered paid. The appropriation was made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Noble, Mr. Small, Mr. Trimble.

INJURY S U S T A I N E D BY MR. RALPH B R A D Y , A S T U D E N T (9) A recommendation that the claim of Mr. Ralph Brady for $87.50, be paid. Mr. Brady^ is a student who cut his hand on a broken bottle while performing military drill under orders which included crawling through the grass on the drill field.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, this claim was allowed. The appropriation was made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Noble, Mr. Small, Mr. Trimble.

APPROPRIATION TO CHEMISTRY D E P A R T M E N T , COLLEGE OF M E D I C I N E , TO REPLACE APPARATUS LOST B Y F I R E (10) A recommendation that the sum of $160, received as reimbursement for a loss caused by fire on May 21, 1921, in the chemical laboratory of the College of Medicine, be appropriated to the Department of Chemistry of the College of Medicine to replace the apparatus destroyed by the fire.

On motion of Mrs. Blake, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Noble, Mr. Small, Mr. Trimble. At this point, Dr. Noble took his place with the board.
