226 BOARD OF TRUSTEES INSPECTION A N D A C C R E D I T I N G O F SCHOOLS [April 15 Mr. Blair presented the matter of the inspection and accrediting of high schools in Illinois by the High School Visitor of the University and by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and moved that the graduates of any high school in Illinois that is "recognized*' by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction should be admitted to the University on the same terms as the graduates of a high school that is accredited by the University. The Chair ruled this motion out of order, as being contrary to Section 12 of the University Statutes. After full discussion of this matter, Superintendent Blair was requested to present full information concerning the standards and methods employed in his office in making up the list of "recognized*' schools, and of his position in the matter, and the President of the University was requested to present a full report on the standards and conditions of the accrediting of high schools in Illinois as administered by the High School Visitor of the University.
