MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

—OF THE—

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

April 15, 1921

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blacktsone Hotel, in Chicago, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Friday, April IS, 1921, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the Secretary on April 7, 1921.

On the- call of the President, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 10 o'clock a. m. on Friday, Api 15, 1921 to consider the report of the Finance Committee on the bond of the Treasurer, and such other matters as may be duly submitted by the President of the University and the Committees of the Board.

When the Board convened, the following members were present: President Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Trimble. President Kinley was present.

MINUTES APPROVED

The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of March 8, 1921. On motion of Mr. Herbert, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 19S to 208 above.

MATTERS S U B M I T T E D BY P R E S I D E N T KINLEY

The Board considered the following matters submitted by the President of University.

E X T E N S I O N OF LEAVE FOR PROFESSOR JAMISON (1) A recommendation that the leave of absence of Assistant Professor A. W. Jamison be extended to September 1, 1922, without salary, to enable him to complete his work for the doctorate.

On motion of Mr. Blair, this recommendation was approved.

LEAVE OF A B S E N C E FOR PROFESSOR M'KENZIE (2) A recommendation that leave of absence, with half pay, be granted to Professor Kenneth McKenzie for one year beginning September 1, 1921, to enable him to prosecute his research for a volume on the history of Italian Universities.

This recommendation was approved.
