RULES, C. P. A. EXAMINATIONS (4) An amendment of rules governing the conduct of the examinations for Certified Public Accountants. June 17, 1918 Dr. Edmund J. James, President

DEAR M R . PRESIDENT:

The University Committee on Accountancy has voted to recommend to you the amendment of two of the rules adopted by the Board of Trustees to govern the conduct of the C. P. A. examinations. These two rules, Nos. 24 and 28, read at present as follows: 24. T h e examination shall take place as often as may be deemed necessary in the judgment of the University Committee, but not less frequently than once each year. The annual examination shall be'held on the fourth Tuesday in May. 28. Examinations shall be written in books supplied by the University to the Board of Examiners as provided for by action of the Board of Trustees in December 1901 (describing the books to be used in all University examinations.) T h e Committee recommends that the second sentence of Rule 24 be amended to r e a d : T h e annual examination shall be held on the third Tuesday in May. T h e object of this change is to get these examinations out of the way a little farther in advance of the Commencement rush and also to avoid recurring conflicts with Memorial Day. T h e Committee recommends the following new wording for Rule 2 8 : 28. Examinations shall be written on paper supplied by the University. It has been found that the regular examination books referred to in Rule 28 are far from suitable for most parts of the C. P. A. examination, for which ruled paper and large analysis sheets should be supplied. Sincerely yours,

C. M. MCCONN

Secretary

of the

Committee

On motion of Mr. Hoit, these amendments were approved.
