LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR MOSIER

(7) On the request of Professor Mosier and the recommendation of Dr. Burlison and Dean Davenport, I ask your approval for leave of absence on one-half pay for Professor Jeremiah G. Mosier, beginning July 1,. 1920, and extending to June 30, 1921.

This request was granted.

LEACVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR JAMISON

(8) At the request of Professor A. W. Jamison, forwarded with the proval of Assistant Dean Rankin and Dean Davenport, I recommend granting of a leave of absence without salary for Professor A. Jamison for the coming academic year, beginning September 1, 1920t purposes of further study. apthe W. for

REQUEST TO HEAT UNITARIAN CHURCH

(9) A request from the authorities of the Unitarian Church, Urbana, through Professor J. Lawrence Erb, that the University heat their church in return for the use of their organ by the School of Music for the purpose of teaching and practising. The Legal counsel of the University writes: "I am pleased to report that I do not think the Board of Trustees has legal authority to enter into a contract to furnish heat to any church or association located oft the grounds belonging to the University." I recommend that the request and the opinion of the counsel in full be printed in the records, and that the correspondents be informed that the proposition cannot be entertained.

The recommendation of the Acting President was approved.

APPOINTMENT OF HON. E. E. GORE TO BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY EXAMINERS

(10) On recommendation of the University Committee on Accountancy, I recommend the appointment of Hon. Edward E. Gore, C. P. A., of the firm of Barrow, Wade, Guthrie and Co., of Chicago, as a member of the Board of Examiners in Accountancy for the term of three years beginning July 1, 1920, to take the place of Mr. R. O. Berger, whose term expires June 30.

This appointment was made.

RESOLUTIONS CONCERNING TEACHERS OF CHEMISTRY

(11) A communication from Professor Noyes, transmitting resolutions of the American Chemical Society with regard to the present difficulty of securing suitable teachers of chemistry.
