EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING, JUNE 15, 1920

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the University in Urbana, on Tuesday, June 15, 1920, immediately following the adjournment of the meeting of the Board on the same day. Mr, Robert F, Carr, chairman, and Mr. Otis W. Hoit, a member of the Committee, were present; also Mrs, Margaret D. Blake, Mrs. Mary B. Busey, and Mrs. Laura B. Evans, members of the Board. Acting President Kinley was present.

MATTERS S U B M I T T E D BY ACTING PRESIDENT KINLEY

The Executive Committee considered the following matters submited by the Acting President of the University,

CALL EXTENDED TO DEAN C. R. RICHARDS

(1) A statement that Dean C. R. Richards, of the College of Engineering, has had an offer from another university of the deanship of its college of engineering, at a salary of $10,000 a year, I recommend that I be given authority to make such arrangements with him as will assure his retention here, by meeting, if necessary, the financial offer of the other institution.

This recommendation was approved.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR BLOOMFIELD (2) A request from Dr. George E. Vincent, Chairman andj General Director of the Rockefeller Foundation, that leave of - absence^ without pay for two years be granted to Assistant Professor Leonard Bloomneld, to enable Dr. Bloomneld to undertake certain work in the language department of the Peking Union Medical College.

This request was granted.

BUDGET, FEDERAL BOARD FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (3) A request for the approval of the following budget for the summer workin vocational education of disabled soldiers for the Federal Board; and also a request for authority to renew the contract with this Board for the coming year.
