A list of candidates for the office of Dean of Women.

After discussion, this matter was referred to the Committee on Student Welfare and the President of the University, with power to act.

(35) A recommendation from the Finance Committee that the sum of $106.89 he paid to former Treasurer H. S. Capron as a refund of interest overpaid (See pages 375-378 and 650).

On motion of Mr. Trimble this refund was ordered.

APPOINTMENTS TO FILL VACANCIES

The Secretary presented for record the following list of appointments made by President James:

Allen, W. R., Traveling Fellow, beginning July 1, 1918, and continuing until further notice, without salary. (June 18, 1918*). Alseth, Hilda, Reviser and Assistant in Library Science, for six weeks, beginning June 17, 1918, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) for the session. (June 17, 1918). Anderson, Emma W., Filing Clerk in the Curator's Office in the College of Medicine, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning March 15, 1918, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (April 12, 1918). Armstrong, Harry, Technician in Anatomy in the College of Medicine, at a salary of sixty dollars ($60) a month, beginning May 17, 1918 and ending September 30, 1918. (May 27, 1918). Ashley, B. S., Student Assistant in Pathology and Bacteriology in the College of Medicine to give twelve hours' service a week for sixteen weeks, at a compensation of fifty cents an hour. (July 1, 1918). Baily, H. H., Assistant in Accountancy, on one-half time, at a salary of six hundred dollars ($600) for ten months beginning September 1, 1918. (June 28, 1918). fBaldwin, L. S., Instructor in Gunnery in U. S. School of Military Aeronautics, during the summer, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month, beginning June 18, 1918, and continuing until further notice. (June 19, 1918). Bard, Catharine A., University Secretary, Rank III, in the President's Office, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month, beginning July 1, 1918, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (July 12, 1918). fBerdahl, C. A., Assistant in Military Drill, beginning June 17, 1918, and ending August 8, 1918, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) for the period. (June 17, 1918).
