GIFT OF MONEY FOR TREES FROM PRESIDENT CARR

(11) A statement that President Carr had given the University $2000 to be used in planting trees along the avenue east of the Auditorium plaisance, an<d to straighten the sidewalks and the thrive fn front v of ^fhe Agriculture building.

(12) A statement that under date of March 30, Miss Bunch a4dre$#ad Miss Bevier a letter in which she says: "Since my appointment does not empire until Seg,tem]fc)er, ;1?21, §nd It seems wise for me to sever my connection with tliei Uniyersity jat 3 ^ time, I wish to thank you for six happy years of service uiider your direction, and to beg you to present to the proper officials my resignation to become* effective September 1, 192(h ' ""'"•*-"'*• AXiss pevier in transmitting Miss Bunch's resignatiq>n tp Dean p%yenport, writes: "I wish to express what I am sure we all feel, that Miss Bunch came to us at a very difficult time and .that she has rendered to tfie University in the six years excellent service in a difficult and trying situation." While I have not been intimately acquainted with Miss Bunch's work, since.it was not my official duty to know of it until this year, the impression which I have gained is that it has been highly successful, jjfee has carried us through the war period with much credit to herself and the University. Since she feels it best to withdraw, I recommend tfcat her resignation be accepted.

On motion of Mr. Blair, this resignation was accepted with regret.

(13) A statement that Professor Clarence W. Alyp^d, w^p ,hajsiserved the University in one capacity and another for twenty-three years, resigns from the position of Professor of History on l^alf time, tp> accept a call elsewhere.
