BOARD OP TRUSTEES

HISTORY OF T H E CAMPUS PLAN

[January 16,

Professor White presented a history of the Campus Plan, illustrated by a complete set of drawings and sketches. On motion of Mr. Blair, it was voted to extend the thanks of the Board to Professor White for his excellent presentation of the history of the development of the Campus Plan, and to refer the material collected to the Consulting Architects for their consideration. At this point, at 12:45 p.m., a recess was taken for luncheon. AFTERNOON SESSION, JANUARY 16, 1920 When the Board convened after the recess on the afternoon of January 16, 1920, the same persons were present as during the morning session, and also Mr. R. R. Ward, a member of the Board.

HORTICULTURE BUILDING

On motion of Mrs. Busey, the Consulting Architects were requested to have the plans for the Horticulture Building prepared so that bids could be asked for on March 9, 1920; such plans to be drawn by the architects in conference with the department, to provide for a building to cost not more than $100,000.

CAMPUS PLAN

On motion of Mr. Blair, the President of the Board was authorized to appoint a commission of members of the Board, faculty, or alumni, to advise with the architects in consideration of the development of the Campus Plan and to report to the Board.

MATTERS SUBMITTED BY ACTING PRESIDENT KINLEY

The Board considered the following matters submitted by the Acting President of the University.

ASSISTANT DEAN OF T H E COLLEGE OF COMMERCE (1) A recommendation from Dean C. M. Thompson that Mr. A. C. Littleton, Associate in Accountancy, be appointed Assistant Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration, beginning immediately and continuing until July 1, 1920, with compensation of 3150, in addition to Mr. Littleton's present salary of $2400 a year.

On motion of Mr. Blair, this appointment was made, by the following vote: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward; no, none; absent, Mr. Lowden, Mr. Trimble.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR DR. B. O. SIPPY (2) A recommendation that Dr. B. O. Sippy, of the College of Dentistry, be given leave of absence without pay, for two months beginning February 1, 1920, to take advanced study in the University of California.

This recommendation was approved.
