MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF T H E UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS October 16, 1919 When the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 11 o'clock a. m. on Thursday, October 16, 1919, pursuant to the adjournment taken on October 4, 1919, the following members were present: President Carr, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Trimble, Mr. Ward. Acting President Kinley was present. MINUTES APPROVED r The Secretary presented for approval the minutes of the meetings of August 15, September 9, and October 4, 1919; and for record the minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee of August 15 and October 4, 1919. On motion of Mr. Abbott, the minutes were approved and received for record as printed on pages 501 to 594 above. MATTERS SUBMITTED BY PRESIDENT KINLEY The Board considered the following matters submitted by Acting President Kinley. ALUMNI RECORD FOR SCHOOLS IN CHICAGO (1) A request for authority to compile and publish an Alumni Record of the colleges of Medicine and Dentistry and the School of Pharmacy. On motion of Mr. Abbott, the Acting President was authorized to proceed with this publication and to submit an estimate of the expense at the next meeting of the Board. 595
