REFUND OF FEES ON ACCOUNT OF M I L I T A R Y SCHOLARSHIPS (9) A statement that on account of the difficulty of verifying service and other papers presented by claimants for military scholarships under the act of the last General Assembly during the pressure of registration, the Registrar directed all applicants to pay their fees and informed them that these fees would be refunded as soon as their cases were reached and verified. The Comptroller now requests that he be authorized to refund to students, found to be entitled to military scholarships, the amount due them on certificates from the Registrar's office, such refunds to be paid out of the fees collected for the first semester, 1919-1920. I recommend approval of this request. This request was approved. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR DECKER (10) A recommendation that the request of Professor E. H. Decker of the College of Law, that his resignation be accepted to take effect September 1, 1920, and that he be given leave of absence without pay in the interim, be granted. This recommendation was approved. APPOINTMENT OF MR. J. F. W R I G H T AS PRIVATE SECETARY TO T H E PRESIDENT (11) A request for approval of the appointment of Mr. Josef F. Wright as private secretary to the Acting President for one year beginning October 1, 1919, at a salary of $1,800 a year. This appointment was approved. SALARY OF PROFESSOR ROGER ADAMS (12) A recommendation that the salary of Professor Roger Adams of the department of Chemistry be increased to $4,500 from September 1, 1919. This recommendation was approved.
