2 BOARD OF TRUSTEES LETTER FROM MR. R. T. LINCOLN [My 17, The Secretary presented the following letter from Mr. Robert T. Lincoln. MANCHESTER, VERMONT, July 6, 1918. / / . E. Cunningham, M Y DEAR S I R : Esq., Secretary, University of Illinois Your letter of the 15th of June and the accompanying copy of the tribute to my father, "Abraham Lincoln Today," came to me at a time when I was engaged under difficult circumstances in removing my belongings from Washington to this place, and my acknowledgment of it has been delayed with many other matters. I thank you very much for your kindness. I have read the little book with very great interest and pleasure as a very unusual indication of the regard in which my father's memory is held so many years after his death. I am particularly grateful for the address of President James, which has affected me deeply. It is a great pleasure to preserve this memorial in my library. Believe me very sincerely yours, ROBERT T.
