BOARD OF TRUSTEES

ANNOUNCEMENT The Residence Hall for women has accommodations for 100 women students. The building is lighted by electricity, and heated from the University central heating plant. Each room is furnished with running hot and cold water. There are tub baths on each floor, and shower baths and lockers in connection with the recreation room. Each room is provided with rug, dresser, rocker, 36-inch bed, pillow, study table with book shelves, study chair, window shades, and curtains. The room furnishings which the student provides are towels, pillow cases 36 in. x 27 in., sheets, blankets, couch cover or bed spread, and table napkins. Occupants of the Woman's Residence Hall are under the immediate charge of the Mistress of the Hall and are expected to conform cheerfully to the requirements for a family of students. A flat rate is charged per year of 38 weeks for room, laundry of sheets and pillow cases, and board in the Residence Hall as follows: Single Room $370.50 Double room, each occupant 323.00 Double room with private bath (two available) each occupant 342.00 Half the amount must be paid to the Bursar before the close of the registration period at the opening of the first semester, and the balance before the close of the registration period at the opening of the second semester. Applications for rooms will be received by the Bursar after April first for the following college year. Applications are registered in the order of their receipt, but no application will be registered unless accompanied by a deposit of $10.00 which will be credited on the payment for the second semester. If the room is not taken by the person to whom it is assigned, the deposit will be refunded provided notice is received by the Bursar by September 1st. Until September first, the number of seniors assigned to the Woman's Residence Hall will be limited to 14, juniors to 17, sophomores to 22, and freshmen to 47. After September first, available places will be assigned from the waiting list regardless of the above distribution. Applicants must accept the rooms assigned to them either in writing or in person hefore the opening day of the school year or they willforfeit both room and deposit. After May first rooms are assigned in the order of application, the upperclass women living in the hall having preference. After all of the rooms have been assigned the names of those who are unsuccessful will be put on a waiting list unless their deposit be withdrawn, and as vacancies occur assignments will be made to them in order. Rooms are ready for occupancy not earlier than the Saturday before the first registration day. All applicants are required to retain their rooms for the entire year and changes will not be permitted except for reasons satisfactory to the Dean of Women. If it is necessary for a student to withdraw at the end of the first semester, the deposit will be refunded provided the room has been filled by the Dean of Women from the waiting list. If, for any reason, one of the occupants of a double room shall be obliged to give up her place in the room, the remaining person may be required to take a single room if one is vacant, or to pay the price of the double room during the time it is occupied by her alone, or to accept another roommate to be assigned by the Dean of Women.
