BOARD OF TRUSTEES

LEASE THIS INDENTURE, Made this day of February, A. D. 1919, by and between the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, party of the first part, and the Illinois Union, party of the second part. WITNESSETH, That the party of the first part does hereby lease to the party of the second part the entire first floor of the building at the northwest corner of Wright and John Streets, Champaign, Illinois, known as the Y. M. C. A. Building, save and except one room and adjoining bathroom on west side of said floor, occupied by the manager of the Inn and Cafeteria, for a period of four months, beginning March 1,1919, and ending June 30, 1919, at a rental of Fifty ($50) dollars per month, payable by the party of the second part monthly in advance. The party of the first part agrees to furnish heat and light for the premises occupied, and ordinary janitor service. The party of the second part agree to pay all expenses of extra janitor service on account of special gatherings, etc.; to furnish and install all necessary furnishings and equipment that it may require; to keep the premises in the condition in which they are received; and to repair and replace any damage resulting from carelessness or abuse, or other than ordinary wear and tear or depreciation. The party of the second part agrees that it will use said premises only as headquarters for itself and for its various activities, including lounging quarters for students of the University of Illinois, and for meetings of various student organizations. The party of the second part further agrees that it will not permit any immoral acts of any sort in or about the premises occupied by it by any persons whatsoever and that it will not use or sub-let the premises other than for the purposes named above, without the consent of the party of the first part. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seals for the day and year first above written.
