On motion of Mr. Trimble, this proposed plan was approved in general and authority was given to negotiate such a contract and to present it to the Board of Trustees for approval.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (34) A statement that the University Senate voted, on May 27, to recommend the establishment of a College of Education with the customary administrative organization, according to the following plan: 1. That for admission as a regular student and a candidate for a degree an applicant must have met the matriculation requirements and have completed at least 65 semester hours of a curriculum in a college of the University; or if admitted upon transfer of credit from another institution, must present the equivalent of the foregoing. 2. That the curriculum of the college of education shall provide for 65 semester hours and that the degree granted upon their completion shall be the Bachelor of Science (in education). 3. That the college of education shall have administrative responsibility for the following courses: (a) Courses in general educational theory and practise (such as are now included in the Department of Education). (b) Courses in special educational theory and practise (such as agricultural education and the teaching of English), which have been or shall be established with the joint approval of the college of education and the departments and colleges concerned. 4. (a) The selection of instructors in the courses mentioned in paragraph 3 (b) shall be made upon the joint recommendation of the dean of the college of education and of the heads of departments and the deans of the colleges concerned. (b) That these instructors shall be members of both the faculty of the college of education and the other colleges concerned, and shall have such quality of scholarship and teaching ability as to permit of their offering courses in both colleges. (c) That recommendations and criticisms concerning the work of these instructors in the college of education shall be made to them through the dean of the college of education.

On motion of Mrs. Evahsj the President of the University was authorized to proceed with the organization of such a College of Education along the general lines approved by the Senate.
