ber 14, Mr. Watkins was granted a four months' leave of absence .on full pay on account of illness. At the expiration of this time, April 1, 1916, it was found that Mr. Watkins had made no substantial recovery from his illness and it was further recommended by the Dean of the College of Agriculture that he be granted leave of absence until September 1, 1916, in the hope that he would be sufficiently improved to return to his work at that time. He has received full pay from April I, 1916, to June 30, 1916. At the present time it does not seem likely that Mr. Watkins will be able to return, and Mr. Blair recommends that his term of service be declared by the Board of Trustees to be ended August 31, 1916.

On motion of Mr. Carr, this recommendation was approved.

MR. LLOYD MOREY APPOINTED ACTING COMPTROLLER

(41) A recommendation that Mr. Lloyd Morey be appointed Acting Comptroller until further notice, at a salary of seventy-five dollars a month until further notice, this to be in addition to his pay as Auditor.

On (motion of Mr. Hoit, this appointment was made. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Small, Mr. Trevett. On motion of Mr. Ward, the matter of bonding the Comptroller was referred to the Chairman of the Finance Committee to determine the amount and to make the necessary arrangements.

CLASSIFICATION OF FUNDS

(42) A recommendation that in -making up future budgets all sums which properly belong in the "General Fund" be assigned to that fund.

Mr. Abbott requested Mr. Hoit to take the chair. On motion of Mr. Abbott, this recommendation was adopted. Mr. Abbott resumed the chair.

APPOINTMENT OF A TRAINED NURSE

On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the President of the University was authorized to appoint a trained nurse, to be assigned either to the office of the Dean of Women or to the department of physical training for women, at a salary of not to exceed $800 a year. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Small, Mr. Trevett. EXTRA COMPENSATION FOR MISS KYLE On motion of Mr, Ward, the sum of $500 was appropriated for Miss Kyle in recognition of her extra work in connection with the office of Acting Dean, of Women.
