BOARD OF TRUSTEES PARTIES

FORBIDDEN

USE OF UNIVERSITY SEAL BY PRIVATE

(28) A request from D. H. Lloyde & Company for permission to use the seal of the University on checks of the First University Bank.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, it was voted that such use of the Seal of the University was improper.

AUTHORITY TO DELEGATE SIGNATURE OF VOUCHERS AND WARRANTS

(29) A request from Mr. W. B. Castenholz, Comptroller, that the Board authorize the President and the Secretary to delegate Mr. Lloyd Morey to sign their names to vouchers, and that the Board authorize President Abbott to delegate Mr. Marsh E. Thompson to sign his name to University warrants.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, the following resolution was adopted: Resolved, that Mr. W. L. Abbott, President of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, are authorized to delegate the signing of their names as President and Secretary, respectively, on vouchers drawn on the Auditor of Public Accounts of the State of Illinois, to Mr. Lloyd Morey, Auditor; furthermore, that Mr. W. L. Abbott, President of the Board of Trustees, is authorized to delegate to Mr. M. E. Thompson, Cashier, the signing of his name as President on warrants drawn on the Treasurer of the University. On motion of Mrs, Evans, it was voted that all persons to whom the signing of the names of the President and Secretary of the Board may be delegated should be put under bond. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS FLORENCE E. SMITH

(30) A request from Dean Davenport that Miss Florence E. Smith, chief editorial assistant in the Agricultural Experiment Station, be granted leave of absence without pay, for three months, beginning July 1, 1916.

On motion of Mr. Carr, this request was granted.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN AGRICULTURE AND HOUSEHOLD SCJENGP

(31) A request from the Illinois State Farmers' Institute that the University adopt the following additional rule concerning the Illinois Farmers' Institute Scholarships, namely: "17. That no person will be assigned a scholarship in agriculture or household science unless his name shall have been received by the Registrar of the University on or before the registration day of the semester with which the scholarship is to begin."

On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, this regulation was adopted.
