On motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation was approved.

RED CROSS WORK-ROOM

(6) A statement that the University Woman's Auxiliary of the Urbana Red Cross Branch has been using certain rooms in the basement of the law Building for Red Cross work during the first semester. The Atixiliary under the presidency of Mrs. James W. Garner is now asking for the use of three rooms ill the basement of the Law Building during the rest of the year, and also that certain electrical wiring be done in the rooms at a cost of about $100 to provide for sewing machines, electric irons", arid for a cutting machine; and also for the use of some additional large tables.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, the President 6i the University was authorized to extend; permission for the use of these rooms and to direct that the electrical wiring be done at the expense of the University. ^

DEAR PRESIDENT JAMES :

I desire to, suggest that at the next meeting, you call the Board's attention to the claim of H. S. Capron, ex-treasurer, for $106.89, the amount of interest, which he claims was overpaid by him on account of daily balances. This error occured because no precedent had been set as to the method of calculating the interest. I was asked to look into this and I find a rule adop-
