On motion of Mr. Carr, the Board adjourned at 6:00 p. m., to meet at the Blackstone Hotel at 10:00 a. m. on the following day. ADJOURNED SESSION, JULY 22, 1916 When the Board met at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, July 22, 1916, pursuant to the adjournment taken on the day before, the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs, Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward. President James was present.

The Board continued the consideration of matters submitted by the President of the University.

MEMORIAL TO MISS K A T H E R I N E L. SHARP (16) A statement that the Alumni Association of the Library School, according to a letter received from Mr. Adam Strohm, librarian of the Public Library of Detroit, Michigan, and president of the Alumni Association, desires to erect a basrelief portrait in bronze of Miss Katherine L. Sharp, the first director of the Library School, by the artist Guton Z. Borglum. The Association requests permission to erect this memorial in the University Library Building.
