MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES -^OF THE- UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS November 9, 1917 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Trustees' room, at the University, in Urbana, at 2 p. m. on Friday, November 9, 1917, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the Secretary on November 3, 1917. On the call of the President, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois in the Trus-' tees' room, at the University, in Urbana, on Friday, November 9, 1917, at 2 o'clock p. m., to consider such matters as the Committees of the Board and the President of the University may submit, and such other matters as may be duly presented. When the Board convened, the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Taggart, Miss Watson. President James was present. M I N U T E S APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of August 28 and September 11-13, I 9 I 7On motion of Mr. Carr, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 507 to 533, inclusive. MATTERS SUBMITTED BY PRESIDENT JAMES The Board proceeded to the consideration of the matters submitted by the President of the University. DEGREES CONFERRED IN AUGUST followng (1) A list of persons to whom diplomas were issued by the Registrar on August 10, 1917, in accordance with the authority given by the -Board of Trustees on June 25, 1917 (page 388). 603
