3. Collection of rental chargest etc, j t is proposed that the Business Office will collect or direct the collection ofj on the basis of information furnished by the Dean of Women, a charge fixed On the recommendation of the Dean of Women approved by the President of the University, from each giri or group of girls in all of the houses thus operated. It is proposed that all such collections be credited to a trust fund known as "Cooperative Rooming House Fund", from which disbursements will be made on the order of the Dean of Women approved by the Comptroller, for the following purposes: (a) Payment to the University of rent for houses furnished by it on the basis of rental charge fixed as per Section I, (b) Payment of rent to parties from whom other houses may be rented as per Section 2, in accordance with the terms of the leases. (c) The purchase of articles of furniture for such houses, said furniture to become the property of the Woman's League of the University of Illinois for use in cooperative rooming house projects. (d) Payment of various miscellaneous expenses connected with said houses. Financial statements concerning the operations of the Fund will be furnished regularly by the Business Office to the Dean of Women, the President of the University, and to the Board of Trustees. 4. Supervision The supervision of all such houses shall be vested in the Dean of Women, who will make assignments of rooms to applicants, will assist the Business Office as may be necesary in the collection of rentals, will approve all disbursements from the funds thus collected, and will have general supervision over the conduct of the houses. 5. Discontinuation of project If for any reason the cooperative rooming house project is discontinued or abandoned, all assets connected with the project, including any cash balance in theCooperative Rooming House Fund and such furniture as may have been purchased from said fund, will be considered available to meet any deficit arising as a result of said discontinuation, and any surplus remaining after all expenses and losses have been paid shall be turned over to the Woman's League of the University of Illinois for the use and benefit of women students of the University. On motion of Mr. Carr, this plan was approved.

MCKINLEY HOSPITAL

(5) A letter from Congressman W. B. McKinley, under date of September 9, 1917, to the effect that he is satisfied with the location of the hospital on Armory Avenue as fixed by the Board and also that he realizes the necessity of delay in construction on account of war conditions. This report was received for record.
