The Secretary presented also for record the following list of appointments made by the President of the University to fill vacancies:

DeHaven, J, D., Radiographer and Photographer in the College of Medicine, from April 5, 1917, until further notice, but in no case beyond June 30, 1917, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100) a month. (April

10, 1917*).

Houser, Doris L., Clerk in the department of architecture, with salary at the rate of six hundred dollars ($600) for twelve months' service, beginning April 2, 1917, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (April 19, 1917.) Jenkins, Louise, Editorial Assistant in the Engineering Experiment Station, with salary at the rate of seven hundred eighty dollars ($780) for twelve months' service, beginning April 23, 1917, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (April

20, 1917).

McDonald, Vernon, Technician in the department of research medicine, at a stipend of forty-five dollars ($45) a mont^i, beginning April 17, 1917, and continuing until further notice, but in no case longer than July 1, 1917. (April 21, 1917). Ray, J. H., Student Assistant in Anatomy, to give 15 hours' service a week during the second semester of the current academic year, with remuneration at the rate of fifty cents ($.50) an hour. (April 6, 1917). Ryerson, L. H., Graduate Assistant in Chemistry, on part time, from April 17, 1917, to June 30, 1917, at a salary of twenty-one dollars ($21) a month. (April 20, 1917). Richards, C. R., Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Engineering Experiment Station, beginning March 1, 1917, at a salary of six thousand dollars ($6000) a year. (April 12, 1917). Saunders, Alta G., Assistant in English, from April 17, 1917, to June 13, 1917, at a salary of one hundred ten dollars ($110) a month. (April 20, 1917). Shelton, Wilma L., Reviser and Assistant in the summer session of the Library School, at a compensation of eighty-five dollars ($85) for the six weeks beginning June 18, 1917. (April 23, 1917.) Sherwood, F . F., Graduate Assistant in Chemistry, without stipend, for the current semester. (April 20, 1917). Van Horn, John, Instructor in Romance Languages, for 10 months beginning September 1, 1917, at a salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) a month. (April 19, 1917).

The Board adjourned.
