BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[May i,

charge for room and board. T h e exact price was referred to Professor White for recommendation. Professor White reported accommodation for one hundred women in forty-four single rooms and twenty-eight double rooms. It was deemed inadvisable to select a name for the Hall and it was recommended that, for the present, the building be known as "The Women's Residence Hall.' , For the Committee,

LAURA B. EVANS MARY E. BUSEY FLORENCE E. W A T S O N

Respectfully submitted,

ELLEN M. HENROTIN

Chairman I wish also to report as Chairman of the Students' Welfare Committee that, in my opinion, Dean Gates's plan of organizing groups of students in cooperative housekeeping is v/ise, foreseeing, and economical. It will ultimately, if carried far enough, solve the problem of unifying the social oversight of the University students' activities and the legitimate freedom of the women students in their own homes.

E L L E N M. HENROTIN

On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, this report was adopted.
