BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[November 18,

1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (August 17, 1916.) Yerger, C. R , Assistant in the Dispensary in the College of Medicine, for one year beginning October 1, 1916, without salary. (September 29, 1916.) Youngjohann, Marie, Assistant in the Research Laboratory of the College of Dentistry for nine months, from October 1, 1916, to July i, 1917, at a salary of forty-five dollars ($45) a month. (September 25, 1916.) *Yuncker, T. G., Assistant in Botany, for ten months beginning September 1, 1916, at a salary of five hundred dollars ($500) for the period. (August 12, 1916.) Zimmerman, Marta, Editorial Assistant in the Engineering Experiment Station, beginning September 1, 1916, or as soon thereafter as she may report for duty, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month. (August 23, 1916.)

On motion of Mr. Blair, the Board adjourned to meet at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, on Wednesday, November 22, 1916, at 12 o'clock noon.

ADJOURNED SESSION, NOVEMBER 22, 1916 When the Board convened at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at noon on Wednesday, November 22, 1916, pursuant to the adjournment taken on November 18, 1916, the following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Small, Miss Watson. President James was present; and also, during a part of the afternoon, Mr. Lloyd Morey, Acting Comptroller.

MATTERS SUBMITTED BY T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY

The Board proceeded immediately to the discussion of the following matters submitted by President James.

LEGISLATIVE ASKINGS (1) The request of the Legislative Reference Bureau for a statement of the appropriations to be asked from the next General Assembly [See page 137].

Mr. Morey presented a detailed report and a summary of the proposed budget.
