Ballantine, H. W., Professor of Law and Dean of the College of Law, beginning September I, 1916, at a salary of five thousand dollars ($5000) a year. (September 6, 1916.) Barnes, Clara M., Assistant in the Library beginning September 11, 1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a salary of sixty-five dollars ($65) a month. (September 18, 1916.) Beach, F. H., Assistant Cashier in the Business Office, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month, beginning October 1, 1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 17, 1916.) Bennett, Louise, Stenographer in the Registrar's Office, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month, beginning October 1, 1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission. (October 21, 1916.) *Bernbaum, Ernest, Professor of English, beginning September 1, 1916, and continuing on indefinite term, at a salary of three thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($3250) a year. S., Assistant in Dairy Chemistry in the College of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station, for twelve months beginning September 1, 1916, at a salary of nine hundred dollars ($900) a year. Briggs, Evelyn, Stenographer in the Information Office, beginning September 1, 1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a salary of fifty dollars ($50) a month. (September 11, 1916.) Browne, H. S., Assistant in Pharmacology in the College of Medicine, on one-half time, for nine months beginning October 1, 1916, at a salary of one thousand dollars ($1000) for the period. (October 9, 1916.) Brownfield, Lelah, Secretary in the office of the Registrar, at a salary of seventyf dollars ($70) a month, beginning October 1, 1916, and continuing until further notice, subject to the regulations of the Civil Service Commission. (August 17, 1916.) Buckler, Helen I., Stenographer in the Business Office, on one-half time, beginning October 1, 1916, at a salary of thirty-five dollars ($35) a month; this appointment superseding her former appointment as Secretary in the Business Office at a salary of seventy dollars ($70) a month.
