BOARD OF TRUSTEES

August 28, 1916 Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, University of Illinois

DEAR SIR:

On July 28, a meeting of the Executive Committee was held at 72 West Adams Street, Chicago. It was attended by Messrs. Hoit and Abbott. There were also present President James and Judge Harker. The meeting was called to consider the purchase of a site for the College of Medicine. This matter was deferred to the Executive Committee at the Board meeting of July 21. After a lengthy discussion of various related conditions it was decided to direct the Chairman of the committee to have a valuation of the property made by the Chicago Real Estate Board.* The committee adjourned. Secretary pro tempore President MEETING OF T H E EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SEPTEMBER 21, 1916 A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, at Springfield, on Thursday, September 21, 1916, immediately following the adjournment of the meeting of the Board of Trustees on the same day. All the members of the Executive Committee were present, namely, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Carr, and Mr. Hoit; also, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Ward, and Miss Watson, members of the Board of Trustees.

President James was present.

MATTERS SUBMITTED BY T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY

The Executive Committee considered the following matters submitted by President James: TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

(1) A request for the transfer of $15,000 from the Incidental fund in the budget to the College of Medicine fund, as it is found impossible to

DEAR S I R :

Some weeks ago the Executive Committee authorized me to have an appraisal made, by the Chicago Real Estate Board, of the ground which is known as the West Side Cubs Ball Park. I accordingly sent an order to the Real Estate Board and received from it an appraisal of the land only, exclusive of the improvements, of $209,533.20. Will you please have this letter appear in the next issue of the Minutes of the Board. Very truly yours,
