Pharmacy, at a price not to exceed $30,600, which was the value set upon the said lot and buildings by the Chicago Real Estate Board. (See minutes of the meeting of July 23, 1913, page 629 ; also minutes of the meeting of December 13, 1913, page 669.) .

Mr. Moore stated for the Finance Committee that the committee was in favor of making this purchase for the purpose named and within the price recommended. On motion of Mrs. Evans, the president of the board was authorized to purchase the lot in question, at a price not to exceed thirty thousand six hundred dollars ($30,600). The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr,; Blair, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Miss Watson; noes, Mr. Trevett; present but not voting, Mrs. Busey; absent^ Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker. At this point Mr. Moore withdrew.

RUSH MEDICAL SCHOOL.

(8) A statement that the President of the University had received informal inquiries with respect to the attitude of the University toward a possible union with the Rush Medical School of Chicago. President James recommended the adoption of the following resolution: Resolved^ That the Trustees of the University of Illinois look with favor upon the consolidation of Rush Medical School with the College of Medicine of the University of Illinois, provided suitable conditions for such consolidation can be secured, and further That the chairman of the Committee on the College of Medicine of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois and the President of the University* be authorized to negotiate the terms of such consolidation, to be submitted to the board for consideration and action.

On motion of Mrs. Busey, the resolutions were adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Moore.

CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF COMMERCE T R A D E TOUR.

(9) An invitation from the Chicago Association of Commerce for the University to appoint a member of the faculty as a delegate to accompany the party on the annual trade tour of the association. The acceptance of this invitation would entail an expense of about three hundred dollars.

On motion of Mr. Trevett, the matter of this invitation was left to the discretion of the^ President of the University with power to act. The vote was as follows: Ayes, J r . Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Moore.

APPROPRIATION FOR Y. M. C. A. HANDBOOK.

(10) A request from Mr. Lloyd Douglas, Secretary of the University Young Men's Christian Association, that the appropriation of the University towards the expense of printing the association handbook be increased from two hundred fifty dollars to three hundred dollars. The association plans to print a larger handbook and to increase the edition.

On the recommendation of President James and on motion of Mrs. Busey, the sum of three hundred dollars ($300) was appropriated toward the expense of publishing the handbook of the Young Men's Christian Association for the year 1914-15. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Moore.

AUTHORITY TO DELEGATE SIGNING OF WARRANTS.

(11) A request from Professor George E. Frazer, Comptroller, that the comptroller and the assistant comptroller (Mr. Lynn E. Knorr) be made the agents of the President of the Board in signing all University warrants.

On motion of Dr. Montgomery, the president of the board was authorized to delegate the signing of his name to all University warrants to Comptroller Frazer and Assistant Comptroller Knorr, this delegation to take effect as of April 1, 1914.
