Meeting of April 22, 1914.

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in the city of Chicago, at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, April 22, 1914, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out hy the secretary on April 15, 1914: Upon the call of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, on Wednesday, April 22, 1913, at 10 :00 A.M., to authorize the conferring of degrees on the graduates of the School of Pharmacy, and to consider such matters as the committees of the board and the President of the University may submit and such other matters as may be duly presented. When the board, convened, the following members were present: President Abbott, Superintendent Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Dr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett and Miss Watson. Mrs. Henrotin joined the board soon after the meeting was called to order. President James was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES. The secretary presented the minutes of the annual meeting of March 10, 1914. On motion of Superintendent Blair, the minutes were approved as printed above on pages 719-740C EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING.

The secretary presented also for record the minutes of the meeting of the Executive Committee held on April 9, 1914 (see pages 741-744 above). MATTERS PRESENTED BY T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY. President James presented the following matters for consideration: AUTHORITY TO CONFER DEGREE. (1) A request for authority to confer degrees upon the following candidates recommended by the faculty of the School of Pharmacy and also upon candidates properly recommended by.the faculties of the several schools and colleges of the University at the coming commencement exercises.
