Location Lessor Date Tenure Annual Rental Virginia George Conover Mar. 5, 1914 Indefinite $111.00 Description Eleven and one-tenth acres of land, being a part of the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of section 14, township 17 north, range 10 west of the third principal meridian; commencing at the northwest corner of the said northwest quarter section and running south 45 rods, thence east 39% rods, thence north 45 rods, thence west 39% rods to the place of beginning. Conditions Committee composed of owner, the Superintendent of Experiment Fields of the University of Illinois, and the presidents of the local banks of Virginia, 111., to fix rent for ten year period following January 1, 1924, and a similar committee to fix rate for each succeeding ten years period. University may terminate lease a t end of any year.

(8) A recommendation that the action of Professor C. G. Hopkins in making a lease of a tract of land from John Swaney, of Magnolia, Putnam County, on March 23, 1907, be confirmed, thus making the act of Professor Hopkins that of the Board of Trustees. The terms of the lease are as follows: 16. Location Lessor Date Tenure Annual Rental Magnolia John Swaney Mar. 23, 1907 Dec. 31, 1999 $36.00 Description Six acres of land, being a part of the east half of the southwest quarter of section fifteen (15) in township thirty-one (31) north, range one (1) west of the third principal meridian; commencing at a point twenty (20) rods south and eighty (80) rods east of the northwest corner of said quarter section, thence south twenty (20) rods, thence east forty-eight (48) rods, thence north twenty (20) rods, thence west forty-eight (48) rods to the place of beginning. Conditions University may terminate lease at the end of any biennium after December 31, 1909.

The c'ommittee voted to recommend proposals seven and eight above to the Board of Trustees for adoption.

I M P O R T ORDER, D E P A R T M E N T OF ZOOLOGY.

(9) A recommendation that the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) be appropriated for the importation of materials for the Department of Zoology, the amount involved to be charged to the departmental appropriation for 1914-15, bills to be rendered after June 30, 1914.

The committee voted to make the appropriation requested.

CONTRACT W I T H MR. G. A. GARRISON.

(10) A recommendation that the comptroller be authorized to make a contract with Mr. G. A. Garrison, for the use of teams and equipment for cultivation on the Busey, McCullough, Douglas and Pell tracts by the Department of Horticulture, the expense to be charged to the Department of Horticulture and to be chargeable in part against the appropriation to this department for the fiscal year 1914-15; provided, that the contracts be approved by the Dean of the College of Agriculture.

The committee voted to give the comptroller authority to make the contract as recommended. The Executive Committee adjourned.
