On motion of Mr. Blair, the foregoing recommendations were approved, the vote being as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery (recorded at the afternoon session), Mr. Trevett; noes, none; absent, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Moore, Miss Watson. A recess was then taken until 1:45 P.M.

AFTERNOON SESSION. When the board convened after the recess, the following members were present: Mr. Abbott, Mr. Blair, Mr. Dunne, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Trevett. President James was present. The secretary presented the minutes of the morning session, and Dr. Montgomery recorded his vote on the several matters voted on at that session as noted above in the case of each motion. At this point Mr. Abbott, having asked Mr. Hoit to take the chair, withdrew. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON COLLEGE OF MEDICINE. The secretary presented the following report from the Committee on the College of Medicine and the School of Pharmacy, which was received for record: August 4, 1913. A meeting of Committee on the College of Medicine and the School of Pharmacy was held a t 120 West Adams Street, Chicago, August 4, 1913. Present: Dr. J. T. Montgomery, Chairman, Mrs. Henrotin, and Mr. Abbott. President James was also present. President James presented a list of nominations for the clinical faculty of the Medical College for the year 1913-14. After an extended discussion Mrs. Henrotin moved and it was voted that the president be authorized to make the appointments submitted. President James presented a list of nominations for instructors and quiz masters. It was moved by Mr. Abbott and voted that the president be authorized to make the appointments submitted. These authorizations were given with the understanding that with each appointment should go a letter from the president stating that the appointments are for one year only and with no implication that the appointment will be repeated for the following year. The president presented a communication from Dr. Bacon requesting an appropriation of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) for the equipment and support of the obstetric work of the clinical years. On the president's recommendation Mrs. Henrotin moved and it was voted that this appropriation be recommended to the board. The committee adjourned.
