Meeting of June 25, 1913.

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the La Salle Hotel, in the city of Chicago, on Wednesday, June 25, 1913, beginning at 12:30 P.M., pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the secretary on June 18, 1913: Upon the call of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois will be held at the LaSalle Hotel in the city of Chicago, on Wednesday, June 25, 1913, beginning at 12:30 P.M., to consider such matters as the committees of the board and the President of the University may submit, and such other matters as may be duly presented. When the board convened, the following members were present: Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson. CONSIDERATION OF T H E MINUTES POSTPONED.

The secretary having presented the minutes of the meeting of June 10, 1913, it was voted, upon motion of Mr; Busey, to postpone the consideration of the minutes for fifteen minutes. APPOINTMENTS MADE BY T H E PRESIDENT OF T H E UNIVERSITY. The secretary presented the following report of appointments made by the President of the University to fill positions authorized by the Board of Trustees. Blaney, Lillian, Scholar in History, for the academic year 1913-14, with a stipend of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) for the year. (June 17, 1913.*) Bond, Ethel, Instructor in the Summer Session of the Library School, for six weeks beginning June 16, 1913, at a compensation of one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175) for the six weeks. (May 24, 1913.) Branch, Nellie XL, General Assistant in the Library, on half time, for two months beginning July 1, 1913, at a compensation of thirty-two dollars fifty cents ($32.50) a month. (June 18, 1913.) Brown, Flora M., Assistant in the Order Department of the Library, from June 16, 1913, to August 31, 1913, at a salary of sixty dollars ($60) a month, vice Mary H. Roberts, resigned. (June 16, 1913.) Case, Flora M., Reviser and Assistant in the Summer Session of the Library School, for the six weeks beginning June 16, 1913, at a salary of eighty-five dollars ($85) for the six weeks. (May 24, 1913.) Clevenger, Clinton B., Assistant in Chemistry in. the Department of Agronomy in the Agricultural Experiment Station, for twelve months beginning September 1, 1913, at a salary of seventy dollars ($70) a month. (June 14, 1913.) Cole, Agnes L., Temporary Catalog Assistant in the Library, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) a month, beginning February 1, 1913, and continuing until further notice or until July 1, 1913. (May 16, 1913.) Cort, W. W., Assistant in Zoology in the Summer Session, for the eight weeks beginning June 16, 1913, at a salary of seventy-five dollars ($75) for the eight weeks. (June 7, 1913.) Crooks, H. F., Assistant in Swimming in the Summer Session of 1913, at a remuneration of one hundred dollars ($100) for the session. (June 16, 1913.) Ellis, Elmer R., Toolroom Attendant in the Machine Shop, with a salary a t the rate of five hundred fifty dollars ($550) for twelve months' service, beginning April 18, 1913, and continuing until further notice, vice Miles Clements, resigned. (May 2, 1913.) Eppels, Conrad Joseph, Assistant in Romance Languages, for ten months beginning September 1, 1913, a t a salary of ninety dollars ($90) a month. (June 17, 1913.) * The date in parenthesis is the date on which the appointment was made by the President of the University. 260
