The secretary presented for record the following letter from President Abbott to ex-Treasurer Haugan, notifying him of the election of Treasurer Busey:

April 6, 1913. Mr. Henry A. Haugan, Treasurer, University of Illinois, State Bank of Chicago, Chicago, III, DEAR S I R : This is to advise you that Mr. M. W. Busey has been elected and -qualified as Treasurer of the University of Illinois to succeed yourself, and you are hereby directed to turn over to him all moneys, securities, documents and other property of the University now in your possession and accept therefor Mr. Busey's receipts. I will arrange to have an audit made of your books early next week, and to jfacilitate this audit I would suggest that, if agreeable to both yourself and Mr. Busey, you retain the books until after the audit is completed. Very truly yours,

AWARDED.

Mr. Moore, as Chairman of the Special Committee, consisting of Mr. Moore, Prof. George E. Frazer, Comptroller, and Lieut.-Col. B. C. Morse, Commandant, authorized by the Executive Committee on February 1, 1913 (p. — ) , with power to open bids and award a contract for uniforms for the corps of cadets, reported that the committee had received bids from the Gulick Tailoring Company, Champaign; the Henderson-Ames Company, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Jacob Reed's Sons, Philadelphia, Pa.; the Pettibone Brothers Manufacturing Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Stern Brothers, Champaign, and had awarded the contract for flannel shirts and ties to Stern Brothers, and for the remaining items of the uniform, including coats, trousers, caps, shoulder straps, chevrons, U. of I. monograms, insignia of rank, collars, and gloves, to Jacob Reed's Sons. This report was received for record.

EMPLOYMENT OF COLLECTING AGENCY AUTHORIZED.

Mr. Moore, as Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that the committee had authorized the comptroller to employ the collections department of R. G. Dunn & Company in the collection of delinquent fees and delinquent loans from the Snyder Loan Fund, if, in his opinion, it is desirable in any individual case to do so; this matter having been referred to the Finance Committee at the board meeting of April 4,1913 (p. 211), with power to act.

THE CHIEF CLERK'S BOND APPROVED.

Mr. Abbott reported that the Executive Committee, under the board's authorization of April 4, 1913 (p. 208), had approved the bond of Mr. Oren E. Staples, Chief Clerk, furnished by the Illinois Surety Company. The committee adjourned.
