Meeting of October 15, 1910.

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held on Saturday, October 15, 1910, at 10 a. m., in the Trustees 5 Boom, N a t u r a l History Building, University campus, Urbana, pursuant to the following notice sent out by the secretary on October 6,1910: Upon the call of the president, Mr. W. L. Abott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois in Urbana on Oct. 15, 1910, at 10:00 a. m;, to consider such matters as the committees of the board and the president of the University may submit, and such other business as may be duly presented. The following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, and Mr. Moore. President James was also present. The minutes of the quarterly meeting of September 20, 1910, were presented and approved.

THE REPORT OF T H E COMMITTEE ON T H E ACADEMY.

A special committee, appointed at the meeting of September 20, 1910, to consider the recommendations of the University Senate in regard to the discontinuance of the Academy and the establishment of a training and experimental school of secondary grade for the School of Education, presented the following unanimous report:

URBANA, Oct. 5, 1910.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: The special committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois upon the continuance of the - University Academy, appointed by the president of the board, met pursuant to the call of the chairman of the committee in the Trustees' room, Natural History building, University campus, Urbana, Oct. 15, 1910. Frank G. Blair, chairman, Mrs. Laura B. Evans and William L. Abbott, members of the committee, and President James were present. President James had submitted to the members of the committee, in advance of the meeting, a report adopted by the University Senate upon the Academy and its relation to the School of Education, which had been carefully considered by the members of the committee. The report of the Senate seemed to the members of the committee to be admirably drawn, and the committee endorsed in general the views therein expressed.
