Meeting of March 12, 1912.

The annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was called to meet in the trustees' room in the Natural History building, Urbana, at 10:00 a. m., on Tuesday, March 12, 1912. When the board met pursuant to the call, there being no quorum present, an adjournment was taken to the Blackstone hotel, in Chicago, at 12 :30 p. m., Tuesday, March 19, 1912.

Adjourned Session March 19, 1912.

Pursuant to the adjournment taken at the meeting of March 12, 1912, the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met at the Blackstone hotel, in Chicago, at 12:30 p. m., on Tuesday, March 19, 1912. The following members were present: Mr. Abbott, Mrs. ^ahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore. The secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of Oct. 31, 1911, N~ov. 10, 1911, and Dec. 12, 1911, all of which were approved. The secretary presented also the minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee, held on Nov. 10, 1911 (pp. 524-531), and Dec. 12, 1911 (pp. 532-546), which were received for record.

ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD.

The secretary took the chair and called for nominations for the position of president of the board. Mr. Abbott was nominated by Mr. Hatch. Mr. Hatch was nominated by Mr. Abbott. The ballot being taken, the vote was found to stand as follows: For Mr. Abbott, 7; for Mr. Hatch, 2. Mr. Abbott was accordingly declared elected and took the chair.
