I t was voted to approve this recommendation, and to make the appropriation of twelve thousand three hundred fifteen dollars ($12,315.00) t h a t is involved. BOARD OP HEALTH MONEY APPROPRIATED TO WATER SURVEY. 5. A request from Professor Edward Bartow, director of the State Water Survey, that the money contributed to the support of the State Water Survey by the State Board of Health, under the present cooperative arrangement between the University and the State Board of Health, be appropriated for the expenses of the Water Survey. I t was voted to grant this request, and to make the appropriation asked for. APPOINTMENT OF .ENGINEER IN WATER SURVEY. 6. A request from Professor Edward Bartow, director of the State Water Survey, that Mr. Robert Winthrop Pratt, now of the State Board of Health, Columbus, Ohio, be appointed engineer to the State Water Survey, at a salary of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) per annum, with permission to do such outside consulting work as may be approved by the president of the University. I t was voted that the president of the University be authorized to make this appointment on the terms specified, if an arrangement satisfactory to him can be made on that basis; and t h a t the. salary of this appointee be charged to the special appropriation made by the Fortyseventh General Assembly for the extension of the work of the Water Survey. DR. SUTHERLAND APPOINTED ASSOCIATE. « 7. A recommendation that Dr. A. H. Sutherland, who was appointed instructor in Psychology in the budget which was approved on July 8, 1911, be appointed associate in Psychology instead. This recommendation was approved. APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE. \ S. , A request from Professor S. W. Shattuck, comptroller, that the balance of $2,563.44 to the credit of the special appropriation of $5,000.00 made on t)ct. 15, 1910, for the expenses of the College of Medicine, be assigned for iise as follows: Laundry $ 150 00 Fuel and light ;.........;... 500 00 Incidentals .* ..'... 1,000 00 Laboratory and clinic (Dental department) 913 44 i Total .$2,563 44 ; ; I t was voted to make these assignments as requested. ]:^9,' A further request from Professor S. W. Shattuck, comptroller, for an ^impropriation not to exceed $1,000.00 for the salaries of persons giving ind u c t i o n in the summer school of the College of Medicine.
