116 UNIVERSITY OE ILLINOIS. [May 27 Meeting of May 27, 1911. A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held on Saturday, May 27, 1911, at 10 :00 a. m., in the LaSalle hotel, in the city of Chicago, pursuant to the following notice sent out by the secretary on May 22, 1 9 1 1 : Upon the call of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the LaSalle Hotel, in Chicago, at 10:00 a. m., on Saturady, May 27, 1911, to consider such matters as the committees of the board and the president of the University may submit, and such other business as may be duly presented. The following members were present: President Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit. President James was present. There being no quorum, the board adjourned. C. M. M C C O N N , W. L. ABBOTT, President. Secretary. Meeting of the Executive Committee. A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois wTas held in the .LaSalle hotel, in Chicago, following the adjournment of the special meeting of the board on the morning of Saturday, May 27, 1911. All the members of the committee were present, namely, Messrs. Abbott, Grout.and H a t c h ; also Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans and Mr. Hoit, members of the board, and President James. CONTRACTS FOR U N I F O R M S . On behalf of the special committee appointed at the meeting of March 14, 1911 (see page 9 1 ) , with authority to advertise for bids and to award contracts for all articles of uniform for the University corps of cadets for two years to come, President Abbott reported t h a t a contract for flannel shirts and for ties had been awarded to Stern Brothers, of Champaign, Illinois, and a contract for coats, trousers and caps, for non-commissioned officers and privates and for commissioned officers, with the necessary shoulder straps, chevrons, collar ornaments, insignia of rank, monograms, collars and gloves, had been awarded to Jacob Keed's Sons, Inc., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This report was received for record.
