PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

511

March 3, 1910, as follows: March 9, 1910. To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Executive Committee begs leave to report that on March 3, President James, finding that there would be no board meeting on that date, advised the chairman of the Executive Committee that President Taft had offered to Dr. David Kinley an appointment as a member of the Pan American Conference to be held at Buenos Ayres during the coming summer and fall. President James recommended that Dr. Kinley be permitted to accept the appointment and be given a leave of absence from June 1 to November 1, 1910. As immediate action was necessary to secure the appointment for Dr. Kinley, the other members of the Executive Committee were communicated with by telegraph with the result that the recommendation of President James was concurred in.
