8. Resignation of Professor Guy Tawney from the University of Illinois, to take effect Oct. 1, 1908. Voted on motion of Mrs. Bnse}^ that said resignation be accepted. PRIZES FOR LAW STUDENTS. 9. A recommendation that the law faculty be authorized to grant the usual law prize scholarships for the present year. On motion of Mrs. Alexander it was voted to authorize the granting of these prizes for the current }^ear. 10. Recommendation that William Freeman Myrick Goss be appointed Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the School of Railway Engineering and Administration for the academic year beginning Sept. I, 1908. On motion of Mrs. Evans it was voted t h a t said recommendation be approved. ADVISORY BOARD OF SCHOOL OF PHARMACY. 11. A communication from W. B. Day, Secretary of the Illinois Pharmaceutical Association, that the Illinois Pharmaceutical Association at its annual meeting held at Peoria, June 9 to 11, 1908, nominated the following three persons, namely: Herman Fry of Chicago, S. C. Yeomans of Chicago, and Albert Zimmerman of Peoria, of whom one is to be named by the Board of Trustees of the University as member of the Advisory Board of the School of Pharmacy to succeed W. K. Forsythe, whose term expired June 30, 1908. The president stated that he would make a recommendation at a subsequent meeting. CONTRACTS FOR THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT AND MAY FESTIVAL. . 12. A communication from Charles H. Mills, Director of the School of Music, asking that the University authorize the signing of contracts for the musical services in connection with the Christmas concert and May Festival not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000). ~No action was taken on this recommendation. A recess was taken until 2 :00 o'clock p. i n .
