*Any four of the academy courses in Household Science may be offered lor one unit for entrance credit; but no entrance credit will be allowed until four courses are completed; and no more than one unit in Household .Science will be accepted. E. DAVENPORT. BUDGET FOR T H E Y E A R 1909-10.

President James presented in part his budget for the year 1909-10 a n d some aspects of it were discussed, out there hot being time to complete its consideration the whole was left for action at some future meeting. TREASURER'S BOND.

CHICAGO, July 14, 1909.

To the Board of-Trustees: Your Committee on Finance begs leave to report that it has received and approved the bond, two million dollars in amount, of Mr. Henry A. Haugan, who was elected treasurer of the University at the meeting of June 24, 1909. The bond has been deposited with the secretary of the board .and a copy of it will be printed herewith.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, Henry A. Haugan, as principal

and Leroy A. Goddard, Hauman G. Haugan, Theodore Freeman, George E. Rickcords, William A. Peterson and Oscar H. Haugan, as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the University of Illinois, of Urbana, in the county of Champaign, State of Illinois, in the sum of two million ($2,000,000.00) dollars, good and lawful money of the United States, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly, severally and firmly by these presents. Witness our hand and seals this twenty-sixth day of June, A. D. 1909. The condition of this obligation is such that, whereas, the above bounden, Henry A. Haugan, .was on the twenty-fourth day of June, A. D. 1909, duly elected to the office of treasurer of the University of Illinois, for a period ending on the fourteenth day of March, A. D. 1911, or until his successor shall be appointed and qualified, and is about to assume the duties of said office: Now, if the said Henry A. Haugan shall well and truly perform and faithlully discharge the duties of treasurer of said University of Illinois during his term of office and shall faithfully keep and truly account for all moneys, bonds, securities or other property coming into his hands as such treasurer during his term of office, and at the expiration of his term of office shall pay over to his successor in office, or to any other person duly authorized by the Board of Trustees of said University of Illinois to receive the same, all moneys, bonds, securities or other property received by him as such treasurer and not otherwise lawfully paid out or disposed of, and shall deliver to his successor in office or other person appointed to receive the same, the property, books, papers and other things in his hands belonging to said office, and shall, at the expiration of his term of office, or oftener, if
