SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Asssembly: That it shall be the duty of the College of Agriculture to give thorough and reliable instruction in the economic production of crops, etc. That to carry out the provisions of this section there be and hereby is appropriated the sum of seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) per annum. SEC. 2. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to conduct investigations calculated to develop .the beef, pork, mutton, wool and horse producing interests of the State, and that the sum of seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) per annum is hereby appropriated for said purpose. SEC. 3. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to conduct experiments in the several sections of the State, in order to discover the best methods of producing corn, wheat, oats, etc., and that the sum of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) per annum is hereby appropriated for said work. SEC. 4. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to make chemical and physical examination of the various soils of the State, and that for this purpose the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) per annum be hereby appropriated. SEC. 5. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to discover the best methods of orchard treatment and that the sum of forty thousand dollars ($40,000) per annum is hereby appropriated for such purpose. SEC. 6. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to investigate the dairy conditions of the State, and that the sum of fiftyone thousand and one hundred and fifty dollars ($51,150) per annum be hereby appropriated for said purpose. SEC. 7. That it shall be the duty of the Agricultural Experiment Station to discover the best methods of producing plants, cut flowers and vegetables under glass, and that the sum of seventeen thousand and five hundred dollars ($17,500) be hereby appropriated for such purpose. SEC. 8. That the sum of one hundred and sixty-two thousand and five hundred dollars be appropriated for buildings for the promotion of the agricultural interests at the State University: Dairy Cattle building $35,000 00 Horse building 35,000 00 Stock judging pavilion 40,000 00 Clinic hospital 10,000 00 Horticultural green houses 25,000 00 Agronomy glass houses 7,000 00 Plant breeding house 6,000 00 Cold storage room 4,500 00 Total $162,500 00
