We would s u g g e s t t h a t a n e w form for s t u d e n t s ' fees-and deposit receipts be used. As outlined to y o u r chief clerk, Mr. O. E. Staples, t h i s receipt should be m a d e w i t h t w o s t u b s , one t o r e m a i n in t h e receipt book, t h u s r e t a i n i n g t h e a l p h a b e t i c a l a r r a n g e m e n t of s t u d e n t s ' n a m e s ; t h e second s t u b to be detached a n d become t h e record for t h e daily cash receipts. I n t h i s m a n n e r , each day's receipts can b e proven w i t h t h e cash book entries, o b v i a t i n g t h e necessity of c h e c k i n g five t h o u s a n d receipts in o r d e r to detect a n error. T h e l a b o r e n t e r i n g w a r r a n t s in t h e w a r r a n t r e g i s t e r could be m a t e r i a l l y lessened b y m a k i n g one e n t r y for t h e a g g r e g a t e of each p a y roll, instead of e n t e r i n g in d e t a i l t h e n a m e s a p p e a r i n g on each roll. These suggestions a r e m a d e to minimize t h e possibility of e r r o r a n d t o lessen t h e clerical labor of y o u r a c c o u n t i n g force. Yours very t r u l y ,
