UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. AUDITORIUM.

It was yoted to accept the bid of English Bros, to complete the tinting of the walls of the Auditorium, using hard oil size for $910.00, and to paint the plaster under the balcony one coat of size and two coats of white lead in colors to suit for $185.00. The Committee on Building and Grounds was given authority to'extend the* tunnel to the building, and to contract for wiring for lights and for drainage. President Abbott, President James, and the Supervising Architect, Mr. White, were given authority to get -chairs for the Auditorium at a cost not exceeding $2.20 a chair.

ADVISORY COMMITTEES.

On motion of Mr. Lehman, the secretary was directed to inquire of the Attorney General as to how far the power of the board of trustees is affected by the provisos • in the act making appropriations for the College of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station appointing advisory committees.

APPROPRIATIONS FOR STATE.ENTOMOLOGIST'S OFFICE.

A communication from Professor Forbes making certain requests with regard to the State appropriation for the State Entomologist's office, was held for further information with regard to the appropriation.

COMMERCIAL GREENHOUSES.

The question of site for commercial greenhouses was referred to the Committee on Buildings and. Grounds for investigation and report to the board. ,

REPAIRS.

The making of necessary repairs to University buildings was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds with power to act.

ELEVATOR IN*. UNIVERSITY HALL.

The Committee on Buildings and Grounds, to which had been referred the question of an elevator,in University Hall, was given power to act as it might deem best in the premises.

DEAN OF WOMEN.

After discussions as to whether it were better to appoint an of Women for the ensuing year or\to appoint now a Dean of it was decided that a Dean of Women should be appointed, President was given authority to appoint Dr. Lily E. Kollock at not to exceed $2,000.00.
