FLAGSTAFF.

Mr. Bullard, from the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, reported that an indebtedness of $746.81 had been incurred in the erection of the flagstaff ordered to be erected by the board, and for which an appropriation of $500.00 had been made. After there had been a general disapproval of an expenditure in excess of an appropriation, the board voted to appropriate the additional amount of $246.81 in order that the whole bill might be paid. O n this question M r . Kerrick voted n o ; the other members present voted aye. TUNNEL TO THE WOMAN'S BUILDING.

URBANA, April 26, 1905.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. Your Committee on Buildings and Grounds has received bids for the construction of a tunnel for heating and other purposes leading to the woman's building, as follows:

Your committee recommends the acceptance of Mr. M. A. Freeman's bid of $3,665.00 for a tunnel with an arched top. Respectfully submitted,

T h e report of the committee was received and it was voted that the President of the Board be authorized to close a contract in accordance with the recommendations of the committee and the specifications upon which the bid w a s based.

TREASURER'S BOND.

T h e Executive Committee made the following report which was received :

URBANA, April 21, 1905.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. Your Executive Committee begs leave to report that it has received and approved the following bond from Elbridge G. Keith, who at the meeting of the Board held March 14, 1905, was elected treasurer.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, Elbridge G. Keith, as principal,

and James B. Porgan, Arthur Dixon, Thomas P. Phillips, and David R. Forgan, as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the University of Illinois, of Urbana, in the county of Champaign, State of Illinois, in the sum of six hundred thousand ($600,000.00) dollars, good and lawful money of the United States, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly, severally, and firmly by these presents.
