Meeting of October 17, 1905.

T h e following call for a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was issued October n , 1905. ."By order of the President, Mr. S. A. Bullard, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the University at 8:30 o'clock a. m., Tuesday, October 17, 1905, to transact such business as may be required during the installation exercises, and such other business as may be brought before the Board." W h e n the Board was called to order the members present were Messrs. Abbott, Barber, Bayliss, Bullard, Davison, Kerrick, McKinley, and McLean, and M r s . Alexander, M r s . Busey, and M r s . E v a n s ; absent, Governor Deneen. President James was not present. W i t h o u t transacting any business the Board took a recess until 11130 o'clock a. m. W h e n the board convened after the recess, the Secretary presented the Registrar's report of fees due from students of the University as follows: From Uniyesity students for the year ending June 7, 1905. From Academy students for the year ending June 7, 1905. From College of Medicine students for the year ending June 6, 1905. From College of Dentistry students for the year ending May 6, 1905. From School of Pharmacy students for the year ending April 27, 1905. From students of the University Summer Session, 1905. From students of the College of Medicine Summer Session, 1905. T h e report was referred to the Committee on Finance.

APPOINTMENTS.

T h e following appointments made by President James under authority conferred upon him by the Board of Trustees were reported: M. K. Akers, Laboratory Assistant in Electrical Engineering at a salary of $50 a month for ten months, from September 1, 1905. James A. Chiles, Instructor in German, at a salary of $85 a month for ten months, from September 1, 1905. Robert Watt Stark, Assistant in Chemistry in the Department of Agronomy, at a salary of $840 a year, term of service to begin October 1, 1905. A. A. Harding, Assistant Director of Military Band, at a salary of $50 a year, and Teacher of Band Instruments in the School of Music, at a salary of $200 a year, from September 1, 1905. Harry F. Nightingale, Instructor in the Academy, at a salary of $100 a month for ten months, beginning September 1, 1905. A. R Warnock, Assistant to Professor Clark in the Department of Rhetoric, at a salary of $35 a month for the remainder of the academic year from October 1, 1905
