Perwell Coal Mining Company, Pana—5,000 tons pea coal through roller screen, iy2 inch and over % inch screen, $1.60 per ton delivered at Champaign. Missouri & Illinois Coal Company, St. Louis—15,000 tons pea coal well cleaned, $1.35 per ton delivered at Champaign. Illinois Traction System, Danville—15,000 tons best Oakwood and Kelly pea coal, $1.50 per ton delivered at Urbana, $1.68 delivered in wagons at the University, $1.58 on cars at the dump near heating plant on University grounds. Bell & Zoller Coal Company, Chicago—15,000 tons of pea coal from Newburt mines at Pana, Illinois, $1.60 per ton delivered at Champaign. C. J. Boedeker Company, Chicago—15,000 tons Odin No. 2 nut through a 1% inch screen and over a % inch screen, $1.65 per ton delivered at Champaign. Consolidated Coal Company, St. Louis—15,000 tons Mt. Olive and Staunton No. 3 (washed pea) through a 1% inch and over a % inch screen, $1.85 per ton delivered at Urbana; No. 4 (washed buckwheat) run through a % inch and over a 1% inch screen, $1.70 per ton; No. 5 (washed slack) run through a % inch screen, $1.30 per ton. Chester A. Harris, Champaign—5,000 tons No. 4 washed coal from Carterville mines, $2.04 per ton delivered at Champaign or Urbana; 5,000 tons No. 5, $1.64 per ton. A. J. Reeves, Champaign—8,000 tons Hurrican washed pea coal from mines near Carterville, Illinois, $2.22 8-10 per ton delivered at Champaign. Your Committee also received proposals* for hauling the coal as follows: Pearl Adams, Urbana, Illinois, from either Champaign or Urbana, 15,000 tons, 17c a ton. Renner Brothers, from either Champaign or Urbana, 18c a ton. Some of the proposals which seemed low were on coals that had not been analyzed by our steam department, and Professor Breckenridge was asked to submit some of these coals.to test and report upon them. Subsequently Professor Breckenridge reported, and on the information submited, your Committee let the contract to the Springfield Coal Company at $1.50 per ton for pea coal and $1.20 for screenings, which was the best offer received. At the same time the contract for hauling coal was awarded to Pearl Adams of Urbana for 17c a ton. Respectfully submitted,

O n motion Buildings and water station propriation of

of M r . McLean, it was voted that the Committee on Grounds be authorized to construct another well for the of the University, same to be p a i d . f r o m the State ap$3,000 and that the money is hereby appropriated.

W O M A N ' S BUILDING.

O n motion of M r s . Evans, the Committee on Buildings and Grounds was authorized to accept from the contractors the W o m a n ' s Building when the work is done according to contracts and to settle with them.
