HONORARY DEGREES AT INSTALLATION. 23. The Council of Administration requests permission from the Board to consider the nomination of the Installation Committee for honorary degrees in connection with Installation Week, and to ascertain whether the persons so nominated, if the names meet the approval of the Council will accept the degrees proposed to the number of twenty-five. Approved. CERTIFICATES FOR QUALIFICATION TO TEACH. 24. I submit the list of persons recommended by the Senate and Council for the University certificate of qualification to teach.

PURCHASE OF STAVE SILOS. 25. The Animal Husbandry Department requests authority to purchase two experimental stave silos, each to have a capacity of 150 to 200 tons and to cost from $350 to $400 each. This request is approved by the Director of the Experiment Station. Approved.

FENCING FORESTRY AND HORTICULTURAL GROUNDS.

It was voted to fence the forestry grounds according to plans submitted at a cost of $542.23; and to fence the horticultural grounds according to plans submitted at a cost of $2,020.17. It was ordered that the fence on the north of the horticultural grounds be put on the north line of the University property. The sums named were appropriated.

RESIDENCE OF DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURAL STATION.

Mr. Kerrick reported that the Committee on Buildings and Grounds and the Committee on Agriculture jointly recommended the purchase for the residence of the Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station of the property at 805 South Wright street, in the city of Champaign, paying therefor $16,500. He also stated that this sum had been found by careful investigation to be somewhat less than the cost of the lot and the house.
