T h e special c o m m i t t e e a p p o i n t e d a t t h e D e c e m b e r m e e t i n g of t h e B o a r d to report u p o n t h e reorganization of t h e School of M u s i c m a d e t h e following report which was a d o p t e d :

URBANA, March 12, 1901.

lo the Board of Trustees, The special committee upon the reorganization of the School of Music, appointed at the December meeting, makes the following recommendations: 1. That the resignation of Professor Walter Howe Jones, to take effect September 1, 1901, and the resignation of Miss Jessie Younge Fox, to take effect at the end of the present term of employment, July 1, 1901, be accepted. 2. That Frederick L. Kawrence, of Northfield, Minnesota, be appointed director of the school and professor in charge of the piano department at eighteen hundred ($1,800.00) dollars per year. 3. That Mrs. Eunice Dean Daniels be appointed instructor in piano at eighty ($80.00) dollars per month for ten months. 4. That Miss Almeda F . Mann be appointed instructor in piano, and to have special charge of the musical preparatory department hereinafter provided for, at eighty ($80.00) dollars per month for ten months. That such appointments take effect Sept. 1, 1901. 5. That Professor Alison Marion Fernie, Mr. Henry Carl Scheld, and Miss Emma Quinby Fuller, now in the school, be continued and that their salaries be fixed at the June meeting. 6. That the President of the University cause the new facultyfof the School of Music to arrange for college and preparatory departments in said school, fixing the standards for admission to instruction of college grade, and setting forth in due form the course and requirements, leading to prescribed certificates and degrees; and that the same be published in connection with the new organization of the School of Music in the catalogue about to be issued.

lo the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Finance Committee begs leave to report that it has examined the vouchers submitted by the Business Manager for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 1900, on which warrants have been issued as follows: Nos. 1 to 600, inclusive, general University; Nos. 1 to 7, inclusive, Illinois State Laboratory of Natural History; Nos. 1 to 64, inclusive, Agricultural Experiment Station; Nos. 1 to 17, inclusive, School of Pharmacy; Nos. 1 to 137, inclusive, College of Medicine.; We have found that the above vouchers are in due form and are properly receipted except the following vouchers not presented at this time, which are reported missing:
