M E E T I N G OF D E C E M B E R 12, 1899.

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in the Trustees' Room, Library Building, Urbana, Illinois, at 9 o'clock a. m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1899. Soon after the regular call for the meeting had been issued, notice was sent to the members of the board that several of their number would have to be in attendance on the day set for the meeting of the Board upon the trial, in Chicago, of the bondsmen of Charles W. Spalding, defaulting treasurer. There were present Messrs. Bullard and Smith and Mrs. Abbott. President Draper was also present. Mr. Bullard was elected chairman, pro tern., and President Draper, secretary, pro tern, • The Board then adjourned to meet at the Sherman House, in Chicago, Illinois, at 9 o'clock a. m., Wednesday, Dec. 18th.

SESSION OF DECEMBER 13, 1899.

When the Board met pursuant to adjournment at 9 o'clock a. m., Dec. 13, 1899, at the Sherman House, in Chicago, Illinois, it was found that several members of the Board could not be present because their attendance was required in the trial of Spalding's bondsmen, which was not yet concluded. Accordingly, after the Board was called to order by President McLean it was voted to adjourn to the same place at 9 o'clock a. m. Dec. 19, 1899.

SESSION OF DECEMBER 19, 1899.

When the Board met pursuant to adjournment at 9 o'clock a. m., Dec. 19, 1899, at the Sherman House, in Chicago, Illinois, there were present Messrs. Bullard, Pulkerson, Hatch, McLean, Nightingale, and Smith and Mrs. Flower, Mrs. Carriel, and Mrs. Abbott. President Draper was also present. Those absent were Governor Tanner and Messrs. Bayliss and McKay. The minutes of the meeting of September 12th and of the adjourned session held in Springfield on September 29th and in Chicago on October 9th were approved; and the acts of the Executive Committee of the Board at its meeting held September 12, 1899, in Champaign, Illinois, and September 29,1899, in Springfield, Illinois, were confirmed, as printed.
