Committee, M r s . Flower offered t h e following resolution as an a m e n d m e n t to the report: Resolved, That the old Chemical Laboratory be converted into a women's building, provided that a building be added or erected adjacent thereto and that between the two provision shall be made for the office of Dean of the Women's Department, suitable parlor and meeting rooms, gymnasium, with toilet and bathing accommodations, department of household economics, with refectory for the use of the university people in general, and a dining room and living accommodations for fifty or more women students, and that the appropriation asked for be increased to such sum as the Department of Architecture shall say is necessary for the several purposes above specified. T h e a m e n d m e n t was adopted, a n d t h e report as a m e n d e d was adopted. A c o m m u n i c a t i o n was received from C u n n i n g h a m & B o g g s with reference to the B r u n e r case. I t was ordered t h a t t h e balance of t h e Appellate C o u r t costs, $9.90, should be paid, a n d t h a t t h e a t t o r n e y s should be i n s t r u c t e d to carry t h e case u p to t h e S u p r e m e Court. T h e Secretary was i n s t r u c t e d to reply to a letter from Mr. P a l m e r with regard to t h e M c M u r r y case t h a t t h e B o a r d declined to take, at present, any step in regard to t h i s case, i n a s m u c h as it involves q u e s tions similar to those which will be passed u p o n b y t h e S u p r e m e Court in t h e B r u n e r case. Mr. Morrison, from t h e C o m m i t t e e on F i n a n c e , p r e s e n t e d the b o n d of Professor S. W . S h a t t u c k as B u s i n e s s Manager. T h e b o n d was approved a n d deposited with t h e Secretary. Mr. P i l l s b u r y , as Registrar, p r e s e n t e d his report of fees, etc., d u e from s t u d e n t s of the U n i v e r s i t y and of t h e P r e p a r a t o r y School for t h e q u a r t e r e n d i n g S e p t e m b e r SO, 1896. T h i s report was referred to t h e F i n a n c e Committee. H e also p r e s e n t e d his report as Secretary., <of t h e bonds b e l o n g i n g to t h e endowment fund which would fall d u e J u n e 30, 1897, and t h e p a y m e n t s falling due on the land contracts d u r i n g t h e same p e r i o d ; also a report of interest a c c r u i n g on b o n d s b e l o n g i n g to t h e endowment fund d u r i n g t h e q u a r t e r e n d i n g S e p t e m b e r -SO, 1896.
